Airduck Hunting Decoy

Tips to get maximum performance from your AIRDUCK™ Decoy.

• • • DO NOT FLY NEAR POWER LINES!!! • • •

  • You'll need to fill your AIRDUCK™ decoy with helium, which can usually be purchased easily in tanks from any department or party store in your area.
  • Squeeze bill when filling
  • Tie line to valve stem below green slot
  • Airduck Hunting DecoyTape line to chest with good strong cellophane tape to fly like a kite (0-10 mph wind)
  • Tape line to bill for different flight action (10-20 mph wind)
  • Some paint may come off during use; to touch up, use a flat paint. Add paint lightly. Paint when inflated. A black permanent marker can also be used to touch up color. Spray paint is heavy so be careful not to over-load.
  • If you happen to puncture a decoy, tape may be used to repair it. Totally deflate, clean and tape hole with good, strong, clear packing tape. Make sure it is sealed completely before filling. Don't overfill.
  • Different wind speeds affect flight. The stronger the wind, move line attachment point closer to bill tip. You should experiment with this.
  • When flying multiple AIRDUCK™ decoys, tape line directly to bill of first in line. You can go directly to next bill. The last bird in line should have line taped to chest. This will give wind lift to line of decoys.
  • Another way to do multiples is to go tail to bill. Your main line is taped to bill and tied to tail valve. Tie next decoy to tail valve of first decoy and so on until last bird. The last bird can be taped to bill or chest. Always have line tied on decoy around bill tip or tail valve. Tape holds but it can tear.
  • Decoy has a flat lacquer on outside coat to protect paint. This reduces about 65% of the sheen from decoy, however the decoy still shines in bright sun. If using in this condition, it may be necessary to mist with flat paint; use black or brown for mallard and canada, white for snow. Spray when decoy is inflated.
